About

Gender Platform Bangladesh, an alliance of national and international human rights and labor organizations, was formed in 2016 with the aim to ensure the safety of workers, especially women workers in the workplace. National and international human rights and labour organizations who agree with and adhere to the Gender Platform are playing active roles as members of the Platform. At present, the honorary members of this alliance are Awaz Foundation, Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS), Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF), Bangladesh National Women Lawyers’ Association (BNWLA), IndustryAll Bangladesh Council, and Karmojibi Nari.

What We Do

Advocacy with the government to ensure a workplace which is free from sexual harassment

Awareness-raising as per the directions of His Excellency the High Court

Establishing and implementing committees to prevent sexual harassment in factories / institutions

Campaigns to ensure a women-friendly work environment

Research and publications, awareness campaigns

Expansion Gender Platform at divisional / regional level in factory / institution dense areas
