Call for the enactment of sexual harassment prevention and protection laws

Women are now working in all places including public and private jobs and educational institutions. But in almost all cases they are still victims of discrimination. The lack of security of women is very obvious. They are being sexually harassed in various ways like, physically, mentally, and verbally. Gender Platform Bangladesh, an alliance of labor rights organizations, has called for the enactment of the ‘Sexual Harassment Prevention and Protection Act’ and the ratification of ILO Convention-190 ‘Elimination of Violence and Harassment in the World of Work’ to prevent all forms of violence and abuse in the workplace and educational institutions.
